After the demise of Solax, Guy Blaché continued to direct films for various companies through the late teens, returning to France in 1922. She created stories that focused on religion, race, gender, immigration, and society, also experimenting with synchronized sound using Gaumont’s Chronophone apparatus (phonoscènes), color tinting, and special effects. Over the course of her career, she made comedies, melodramas, trick films, gangster films, and more.
